Glen Arbor, Empire & the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore have many Beaches from the Sleeping Bear National Park website and Sleeping Bear Dunes Beaches & Trails. Our favorite is Good Harbor Bay, either at the end of County Road 651 or CR 669 Beach Below (Bohemian Rd) with amazing sand, blue blue waters, and perfect sunsets with views of Pyramid Point and Whaleback sand dune is a favorite for painters and the quiet gem of Leelanau. In Suttons Bay you can enjoy Marina Park Beach that includes a playground, North Park with a boat launch & picnic area, and South Shore/Sutton Park that has a great picnic area as well!

Leland has great beaches on Lake Michigan including the famous Van’s Beach as well as Nedow’s Bay on Lake Leelanau.

Northport‘s Peterson Park beach at 10001 E Peterson Park Rd. is one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on Lake Michigan & Northport also has a public beach with picnic areas & playground next to the Marina.

The Grand Traverse Lighthouse is Leelanau’s Lighthouse Museum (with gift shop) at the northern tip of Leelanau Peninsula at 15500 N Lighthouse Point Rd Leelanau State Park, Northport, MI 49670.

1852 — Original Grand Traverse Light Station constructed by the U.S. Lighthouse Service
1858 — Present lighthouse was built in a more visible location for passing ships
1899 — Fog Signal Building constructed
1900 — Lighthouse converted to a two-family dwelling
1972 — Building was closed and the automatic light tower erected
1986 — Lighthouse was open to the publicy orchards and vineyards.

The South Manitou Island Lighthouse is one of the attractions on South Manitou Island in the Sleeping Bear Lakeshore. You can get to the island with Manitou Transit in Fishtown.
